How to Use a Home Soil Test Kit

  1. Gather clean tools including a trowel, bucket, and plastic bags.
  2. Take 5-10 soil samples from different spots in your testing area, digging down 4-6 inches. Mix the samples together in the bucket.
  3. Spread the soil out and let it air dry completely. Remove any rocks, roots or debris.
